The year is only a quarter finished and we have already seen a lifetime of conflict, scandal and downright fearful events. In the news right now, we have leaders trying desperately to work out a deal where our enemy will acquire nuclear weapons. I’m not being hyperbolic, I not talking about a perceived enemy or a possible enemy. I’m referring to a nation that is actually funding and arming our enemies as I write this. These folks have just recently stated publically that they will not stop until they see an Islamic flag flying over the White House. One of their own journalist defected during the meetings in Switzerland and warned us that we are being played.
Meanwhile, a former Secretary of State is being investigated for breaking the rules and the current one recently invoked Allah’s will when speaking about negotiations with radical Islamists. In the case of Bowe Bergdahl – who apparently abandoned his fellow soldiers and defected to terrorists – we are told that it was worth the life of six of our men and the exchange of five terrorists back to the battlefield because, “we don’t leave anyone behind.” Yet, all the while, we have left 34 year old American Citizen, Father and Pastor, Saeed Abedini rotting in an Iranian prison since 2012 because he had the audacity to tell people about Jesus and ministered to their needs. The World is a very messed up place!
Jesus was very clear. There are two types of people in the world, God people and devil people:
“The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one.” Matthew 13:38 (NLT)
There is no middle ground when the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. As I was explaining to my daughter just the other day, some people need to be dealt with strongly. If Hitler, Stalin and Lenin had been confronted and dealt with early-on, millions of innocent men women and children could have been spared. Where is justice?
I am increasingly alarmed at the state of evil in our world. I am even more alarmed that so few seem to recognize it. Have we been in the pot so long, that we don’t even realize that we are being boiled to death? Like Joshua of old, there comes a time when you are either all in or all out. Either you will accept the lack standards of the evil Kingdom or you will sell-out completely to God. It’s time to choose a side.
“So fear the LORD and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD alone. But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:14-15 (NLT)
Father help us realize that we need You more than ever and help us choose the right side. In Jesus Name, Amen!
